Today, we’re peeling back the curtain on one of the most important characters in the Legend of Nero universe—Adrianna. She’s my very first character, and there’s a ton of mystery and cosmic destiny wrapped up in who she really is. Let’s dive into her origins and discover how an ordinary girl becomes the Princess of the Stars.

Today’s episode is all about Adrianna’s origins. I thought I’d take a step back and dive into some details about her backstory—because she was my very first character, and there’s a ton of lore wrapped up in who she is and what she’s destined to become.

The beginning

From the very beginning, Adrianna’s life has been steeped in mystery.

As a baby, she’s handed over to an adoptive couple by a mysterious man—a man who’s wounded, frantic, and desperate. He begs this couple to take Adrianna, insisting that she’s important. And then, just like that, he’s gone.

That couple—Jeff and Chastity—raise Adrianna as their own. But they always know there’s something different about her.
Adrianna grows up showing signs of incredible, inexplicable abilities. Even as a child, she has this unique connection to the world around her. She feels the shifting seasons deep in her soul. She senses the cycles of life and death across the entire planet.

She can “hear” cosmic events—like meteors streaking across the sky, or the pull and push of tides, or even asteroids colliding far out in space.

Adrianna as a child sketch.

Imagine being a kid—or worse, a pre-teen—already overloaded with emotions and hormones, and on top of that, feeling the entire universe coursing through you. It’s overwhelming.

Sometimes, Adrianna writhes in physical pain because of these sensations. And it’s not a noise in her head—it’s more like an all-consuming feeling. She doesn’t understand it, and it terrifies her.

Jeff and Chastity witness all of this and feel helpless. They can’t stop it. They can’t fix it. They’re just trying to be good parents—doing their best to protect a child they know is destined for something bigger than any of them can comprehend.

Fast forward.

Fast forward to when Adrianna turns sixteen.

She’s out wandering the woods near her family’s cabin—one of her favorite places to escape and commune with nature—and she stumbles upon a medallion.

It’s not buried or hidden. It’s simply there, almost waiting for her to discover it.

As soon as Adrianna picks it up, a voice calls out to her. It’s warm, motherly, and strangely familiar.

Suddenly, a radiant apparition appears before her. This figure introduces herself as Gaia—a goddess-like being.

Gaia tells Adrianna that she’s been destined for something far greater than an ordinary life.

She explains that all those feelings Adrianna has—the cycles of life and death, the shifting of the earth, the cosmic events—they’re Gaia speaking to her. Gaia says:

“All that is me. I’m trying to communicate with you.”

It’s a bizarre way to communicate, but I suppose that’s how god-like beings operate.

For the first time, Adrianna begins to make sense of what she’s been experiencing. She finally has a face—and a voice—to associate with the overwhelming feelings that have haunted her all her life.

Gaia appears kind and maternal, choosing this form to make Adrianna feel safe and connected.

Then, Gaia drops a bombshell:

“Adrianna, you’re the Princess of the Stars. Your destiny is to take up the royal throne beside me.”

Imagine you’re sixteen years old, just trying to figure out who you are—and suddenly you’re told you’re cosmic royalty. That’s enough to blow anyone’s mind.

Naturally, Adrianna is full of questions.

Gaia gives her a task:

“Travel to the edge of the world.”

Of course, prophecies are always cryptic. “Princess of the Stars”? “Edge of the world”? Very vague stuff.

Gaia reassures her:

“You’ll know where it is by listening to your heart.”

It’s cliché, sure—but sometimes even a vague purpose is all someone needs to start a journey.

For Adrianna, this is the first time she’s felt like maybe she is special. Maybe she’s meant for something more. And it’s exciting.

Before Gaia vanishes, she leaves Adrianna with the medallion, telling her:

“This is a piece of me. Keep it close.”

When Adrianna puts the medallion around her neck, she feels its power radiating through her like a protective force.

Running back home.

Overwhelmed and exhilarated, Adrianna rushes home, eager to tell Geoff and Chastity everything that’s happened.

But when she sits them down and starts explaining, she’s shocked to find that their reaction is… pretty calm.

While they never expected this exact revelation, they always sensed Adrianna was different—and that the man who handed her over all those years ago wasn’t just an ordinary stranger.

Geoff and Chastity finally tell Adrianna the truth:

They didn’t birth her.

They took her in as their adoptive daughter, knowing she came from somewhere—or someone—extraordinary.

For Adrianna, this is earth-shattering.

At sixteen, you’re already dealing with identity, hormones, anxiety—and now she’s not only cosmic royalty, but also adopted?

The weight of it crashes over her.

She feels betrayed. Lied to. Everything she believed about her life suddenly feels like an illusion.

And just as her anger and confusion boil over, Geoff tries to calm her.

“Hold on, Adrianna. There’s something you need to see.”

He goes into the bedroom and returns with an old, rusted sword. Once, it must have been beautiful, maybe even royal. But now it’s battered, weathered, and dull.

Geoff tells her:

“The man who gave us you… he told us this was yours. I’ve been holding onto it for sixteen years. It belongs to you.”

Adrianna, overwhelmed and furious, shuts down emotionally.

All the cosmic power inside her—power meant to help her fulfill her destiny—builds up until she can’t contain it anymore.

Geoff and Chastity look at each other with love and fear as the energy swells around their daughter.

“I love you, Geoff.”
“I love you too, Chastity. We’ll get through this.”

Silence

And then—silence.

Adrianna releases a massive surge of energy, unleashing the chaos that’s been simmering inside her.

And that’s where we pick up with her again in a later flashback—a teenage girl caught between cosmic destiny, teenage hormones, and the secrets of the universe.

So there you go—a little history lesson on Adrianna from your boy, Tim.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me today. I’ll catch you in the next episode.
